I have 5 possible buttons in the left side of the controller: LT, LB, Left Stick button and two palettes, but by now I am going to use only two of them (use heal potion and use mana potion) I am going to use only the left side of the controller (left stick for moving the character, even if I can use the mouse, I want that feeling )
My ice embermage uses only 7 abilities (6 using the side buttons and the teleport using the right click button).
